President Jovenel Moise: Haiti is at the crossroads, we need 6,000 kilometers of roads, there's only one way to get it done!

President Jovenel Moise: Haiti is at the crossroads, we need 6,000 kilometers of roads, there's only one way to get it done!

If Haiti keeps paying foreigners to come build roads for us at the rate of two million US dollars per kilometer, we will never have the money to build all 6,000 kilometers of roads we need. There is an alternative, President Jovenel Moise explains...

Read these words from Haitian President Jovenel Moise:

The average price for one kilometer of road when it is contracted to outside sources is $1.5 million to $2 million dollars.

Multiply that 6000 kilometers, we are looking at 12 billion dollars that we will need just to build roads in Haiti.

Will Haiti ever possess 12 billion dollars to build roads?

So we took an alternative. we told the Ministry of Public Workd strap on your boots.

That's why you see engraved in all the public works equipments: "Wout Se Nou" (Roads Are Us).

Today the Haitian ministry of public works says: We take charge, anywhere in Haiti that an international organization has not pledged to build a road, we will build it.

For us to get out of the poverty we are in right now, we only have one choice: Put the State to the test.
