The Republic of Haiti has nearly 1 million hectares of arable land Half of that arable land can be irrigated without much difficulty.
Unfortunately only 5% of this arable land is irrigated.
To provide an additional 450,000 hectares, 675 million dollars are needed.
These are the words of Haitian president Jovenel Moise in his speech at the 73rd UN General Assembly in New York.
